RESOLUTION NO. 13253
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach, Florida, is
desirous of employing Edward Durell Stone & Associates,
Architects, to provide architectural services in connection
with the construction of certain alterations and additions
to the existing Miami Beach Convention Center facilities,
upon terms and conditions agreed upon between the City and
the said Architects; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach deems it to be to the best interest of the City of
Miami Beach, its citizens and residents, to employ the said
Architects in such capacity; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney heretofore submitted
a proposed agreement embodying the terms and conditions upon
which said architectural services were to be performed at
the regular meeting of the City Council of March 3, 1971,
and the City Council desired that certain changes and
amendments be made thereto; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney submitted to the City
Council at its regular meeting of March 17, 1971, such
contract embodying and setting forth the changes desired
by the City Council, but a full membership of the Council
not being present, no vote was taken thereon and the matter
was thereupon deferred to the regular meeting of the City
Council of this date; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the
terms and provisions of the said agreement as changed and
modified, and the City Council being in accord and
agreement with the same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the
City Clerk-Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to execute the said agreement as changed and
modified in the name of and on behalf of said City, and the
disbursing officers of the City are hereby authorized and
directed to disburse the monies required by the terms of
said agreement from funds of the City available for such
purpose.
