13289 RESOLUTION NO. 13289
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself as a body, for the Mayor, for the Vice
Mayor and each and every individual Councilman composing the City
Council, and for and on behalf of the citizens and residents of
the City of Miami Beach, that formal tribute and the highest of
all possible praise be and the same is hereby extended and ex-
pressed to the coaches, the managers, the players and all partici-
pating personnel of the City of Miami Beach Senior High School
Baseball Team for their shining record of achievement; their con-
stant display of every exemplary characteristic and attribute
essential not only to outstanding and exceptional athletes but
also as the precursors of outstanding future citizens in the City
of Miami Beach, the State and the Nation. These athletes, their
coaches and their managers, have held the name of the City of
Miami Beach and all its citizens and residents in the best tradition
of true American competitiveness and their achievements during the
1971 year in emerging as State District 8AA Champions, as State
Region 4AA Champions and as Runner-up for the State of Florida AA
Baseball Championship constitutes a record of victory which merits
for them praise undiminished in amount and peerless in quality.
The memory of their accomplishments will not be tarnished or fade
away but will always live in time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the following individuals, comprising
the coaching staff, management and individual players comprising
the roster of this championship, be and they are hereby individually
made the recipient of this resolution:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this resolution be trans-
mitted to the Principal of Miami Beach Senior High School and to
each and every individual hereinabove enumerated with the express
thanks of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, its citizens
and residents, for their accomplishments .
The adoption of the above and foregoing resolution was
moved by the Honorable Mayor Jay Dermer, the Honorable Vice Mayor
Leonard O. Weinstein, and the Honorable Councilmen Robert S.
Goodman, Jerome G. Greene, Herbert Magnes, D. Lee Powell and
Harold Rosen.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of MaY, 1971 .
