13290 RESOLUTION NO. 13290
WHEREAS , there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, for its
approval, a proposed form of Agreement between the City
of Miami Beach, the Tourist Development Authority of the
City of Miami Beach and National Boating Expositions, Inc. ,
for the promotion and staging of a program of Offshore
Power Boat Racing, under the designation of "America Cup Races"
between December 5th and December 12th, 1971, which Agreement
provides for the payment of $25, 000.00 by the Tourist Develop-
ment Authority and an equal contribution of $25, 000. 00 to be
made by National Boating Expositions, Inc. and
WHEREAS , the City is designated as a party to said
Agreement for the sole and exclusive purpose of manifesting
its approval of the action of the Tourist Development Authority
in creating a financial obligation beyond its current budgetary
year, and for no other purpose whatsoever, and that the City
of Miami Beach is not obligated under said Agreement for the
payment of any sums of money thereunder whatsoever, or to
perform any act, deed or other obligation thereunder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
and the City Clerk-Finance Director be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and
in the name of the City for the sole purpose aforesaid follow-
ing and subsequent to the execution and delivery thereof by
the Tourist Development Authority of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida.
