13302 RESOLUTION NO. 13302 WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the Appropriation Bill adopted by the Legislature of the State of Florida set forth and contained the sum of $2, 000, 000. 00 to be expended and utilized in the financing, in conjunction with the Federal Government, of Low Income Housing Projects in the State of Florida, particularly in Dade County, and WHEREAS, this appropriation was deleted and rescinded from said Appropriation Bill by action of the Senate and House Conference Committee, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, feels strongly that the appropriation, as originally made in the said amount for the same purpose, is of paramount, vital and urgentimportance to the State of Florida and to the welfare of its residents and citizens, and is further of the compelling belief that the action of the Conference Committee in deleting said appropriation is not in the best interest of the State and its citizens ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the House and Senate of the Legislature of the State of Florida be, and they are hereby strongly urged to reject the action of the Joint Conference Committee, and that the said House and the said Senate reinstate the original appropriation of $2, 000, 000. 00 for aid and assistance to Low Income Housing Projects in the State of Florida. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the State Legislature, and to each member of the Dade County delegation to said Legislature. The adoption of the above and foregoing Resolution was moved by Councilman Jerome Greene. PASSED and ADOPTED this 23rd day of June, 1971.
