13306 RESOLUTION NO. 13306
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, has been advised by unimpeachable sources
that Susan Burnside, a scintillant luminary of the Miami
Herald ' s Reportorial, will be lost to the City of Miami
Beach by reason of her reassignment to another area in
Dade County, and
WHEREAS, her departure from the Miami Beach
scene is evocative of emotions profoundly depressive, and
WHEREAS, it is but meet and proper on this
regrettable occasion for the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, to note and to take official cognizance
and to record for posterity' s sake the mode and manner with
which she performed her appointed daily task of observing
and narrating in noble prose the heroics and concomitant
human foibles of this City Council, and its citizenry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself
and all of its citizens and residents, that warm appreciation
be expressed to the Miami Herald for favoring this community
with a reportorial representative in the person of the said
Susan Burnside, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself and its said citizenry
that it is equally appreciative to the said Susan Burnside
for her clear objectivity and sympathetic understanding in
recording for all who read the struggles of government to
achieve the ideals of an enlightened citizenry in a style
of prose so terse, lucid and lambent as to serve as a model
for all those who may be privileged to succeed her in her
Miami Beach assignment, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this Resolution be made a
part of the official records of this meeting and that a true
and correct copy of the same be presented to the said Susan
Burnside with the most profound and deep wishes of the City
Council for her continued success in her new assignment.
