RESOLUTION NO. 13332
WHEREAS, WALTER KAPLAN was duly appointed by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, on the 9th day of
January, 1970 , as a member of the Tourist Development Authority
of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the said WALTER KAPLAN was thereafter duly
elected, by the members of the said Miami Beach Tourist Develop-
ment Authority, to the Chairmanship of said Authority, which
office he held until the time of his relinquishment of his
duties on the 29th day of July, 1971, because of urgent neces-
sities of his own endeavors ; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Member and Chairman of
the Tourist Development Authority of the City of Miami Beach,
he performed his duties with a profound sense of obligation and
tireless devotion to every cause designed for the advancement of
the highest and best interests of the City of Miami Beach, its
citizens, residents and inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, his achievements in office during his tenure
therein will be difficult to equal and impossible to surpass,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself and each member
thereof, and for and on behalf of the citizens , residents and
inhabitants of the City of Miami Beach, that these profound
sentiments of appreciation and tribute be permanently memorialized
on the public records of the City of Miami Beach and that the said
WALTER KAPLAN be and he is hereby respectfully advised and informed
by the said City Council, for itself, its members and for the
citizens and residents of the said City of Miami Beach, that they,
one and all, will continue to be boundlessly appreciative for his
public service and leadership as a Member and Chairman of the
Tourist Development Authority of the City of Miami Beach and that
the record of his accomplishments therein will serve as an unending
source of inspiration to his successors in office.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that they, collectively and individually, ex-
tend to the said WALTER KAPLAN their most profound and sincere
wishes for a continued long career of good health and public service.
The adoption of the above and foregoing Resolution was
jointly moved by each and every Councilman and unanimously passed
on the 4th day of August, 1971.
