RESOLUTION NO. 13359
WHEREAS , the injustice and hardship upon citizens and
residents of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, who are required
to travel to Miami in matters involving the Small Claims Court
is plain and manifest; and
WHEREAS , public convenience and necessity demands
and requires that the excellent, exceptional, and outstanding
judicial services and facilities of said Small Claims Court
should be made more readily convenient and accessible to the
citizens and residents of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, such ready accessibility and convenience to
citizens is the very reason for the creation and establishment
of said Small Claims Court;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Metropolitan Dade
County Board of Commissioners be and they are hereby respectfully
requested, in co-operation with the City of Miami Beach, to estab-
lish a regular and convenient schedule for holding Sessions of
said Small Claims Court in the City of Miami Beach, together with
the necessary judicial and clerical staff, to operate and con-
duct said Court ; and
BE IT FURTHER DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said Metropolitan Dade
County Board of Commissioners be and they are hereby respectfully
requested to consider the request herein embodied, and that the
said Metropolitan Dade County Board of Commissioners be and they
are hereby assured of every possible assistance and co-operation
on the part of the City of Miami Beach in the fulfillment there-
of; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this Resolution be trans-
mitted to each and every member of the Dade County Metropolitan
Board of Commissioners, its County Manager, and to the several
Judges of the Small Claims Court.
The adoption of the above and foregoing Resolution
was moved by the Honorable Vice-Mayor Leonard Weinstein.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of September , 1971.
