SUBJECT: Personnel Board Group 1 Election
Pursuant to City Code Section 2-190.69, the Office of the City Clerk commenced election
procedures to elect the employee representative of Group 1 for the Personnel Board, for the
term commencing August 1, 2017 and ending July 31, 2020. Group 1 consists of "Police
Department, Fire Department and Ocean Rescue Division employees."
On June 2, 2017, a notice was sent to eligible Group 1 employees informing them that an
election had been called to elect the Group 1 employee representative to the Personnel
Board. The notice was disseminated via e-mail to Department Directors, Division Directors,
Management Team, Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Police Chief, Assistant Police Chief and
their support staff, with instructions to post and distribute the notice among their employees.
Group 1 employees had from Monday, June 12, 2017 to Friday, June 23, 2017 to declare
their interest in qualifying to run as the Group 1 employee representative on the Personnel
Board.
The incumbent to the Group 1 seat, Sergeant Alejandro Bello, from the Police Department,
was the only employee who filed to fill the vacancy in Group 1; therefore, Sergeant Bello was
deemed elected without opposition as the Group 1 employee representative to the
Personnel Board, to fill the three-year term ending on July 31, 2020.

We, the undersigned Clerk and Witness, do hereby certify that:
