13391-D RESOLUTION NO. 13391-D
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has been advised of the passing to his eternal reward
of one of the most distinguished members of the judiciary of
the State of Florida, the Honorable J. FRITZ GORDON, Judge of
the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, in and for
Dade County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the sad tidings of the departure of the said
Honorable J. FRITZ GORDON from this troubled world has brought
the most profound sorrow and abiding regret to the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and each and every member
thereof, as well as to all the citizens and residents of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS , the said Honorable J. FRITZ GORDON has always
been held in the highest esteem by the said City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, and each individual member thereof, as well
as its predecessors; and
WHEREAS , the said Honorable J. FRITZ GORDON was one
of the most outstanding, and gifted, members of the judiciary
of the State of Florida and always, without fail, manifested
the most generous, sympathetic and understanding comprehension
and demeanor to the members of the public and members of the
legal profession who appeared before him; and
WHEREAS, on innumerable occasions , the said Honorable
J. FRITZ GORDON gave tirelessly and generously of his time and
efforts to serve not only the City of Miami Beach, the County of
Dade and the State of Florida but also every public and charitable
organization therein; and
WHEREAS, his loss will be keenly felt not only by his
contemporaries but for generations to come; and
WHEREAS, his life, character and accomplishments will
be a shining and everlasting inspiration to all,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself and each and
every member thereof, and for and on behalf of the citizens, resi-
dents and inhabitants of said City, that formal expression be and
the same is hereby given to the widow, Frances Davis Gordon, and
family of the said Honorable J. FRITZ GORDON of their lasting sense
of loss in his untimely departure and in grateful acknowledgment
and recognition of the judicial and other public services he so
tirelessly rendered to the City of Miami Beach, the City Council
thereof and its citizens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a suitably engraved copy of this
Resolution be transmitted and delivered to the grieved widow,
Frances Davis Gordon, and family of said Honorable J. FRITZ GORDON,
Judge of the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Dade
County, Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of September, 1971.
