13463 RESOLUTION NO. 13463
WHEREAS there are presently several sections of
State Highway AlA within the corporate limits of Miami Beach
and which are one-way pairs and have not to date been
accepted by the State of Florida as a part of the state
primary road system despite the fact they provide for that
function; and
WHEREAS the section of Indian Creek Drive from
26th Street to 44th Street, inclusive, is presently
providing AlA one-way traffic from the north to the south,
and which section of roadway is in dire need of reconstruction
under the state roadway maintenance program; and
WHEREAS Indian Creek Drive from 60th Street to
Abbott Avenue, Abbott Avenue at Indian Creek Drive to Harding
Avenue, and Harding Avenue at Abbott Avenue to 87th Terrace,
are additional roadways presently serving the one-way
southbound traffic for AlA but not presently designated as
part of the state primary road system despite the fact they
are functioning as such; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach deems it to be to the best interests of the City and
its citizens that the aforementioned roadways be designated
by the Secretary of the Department of Transportation of the
State of Florida as a part of the state primary road system,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the
City Clerk-Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to execute this resolution requesting the
Secretary of the Department of Transportation of the State
of Florida to designate the aforementioned roadways as
part of the state primary road system of AlA for and in the
name of the said City.
