13494 RESOLUTION NO. 13494
WHEREAS, Edward Durell Stone & Associates, the
Architect for the construction of certain alterations and
additions to the existing Miami Beach Convention Center,
pursuant to its contract with the City of Miami Beach dated
April 21, 1971, has, under Article I, Paragraphs 1. 1. 1;
1. 1.2; and 1. 1. 3 respectively, consulted with the City to
ascertain the requirements of said Project; and has au'l1r-
confirmed the same with the City; and has prepared and
submitted for the approval of the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, Schematic Design Studies consisting
of drawings and other documents illustrating the scale and
relationship of Project components and site development plans,
including traffic flow improvements by the City and
a three dimension scale study model, and has submitted to the
Owner a Statement of Probable Construction Cost in the amount
of $9, 590, 000. 00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH. FLORIDA, that the said
Schematic Design submitted by the Architect to the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and the said
Statement of Probable Construction Cost in the amount of
$9, 590, 000.00 be, and the same is hereby approved, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that subject to the provisions
of Article II (b) of said contract, the financial officers of
the City be, and they are hereby authorized to make appropriate
payment to the said Architect, under the provisions of Section
6. 1.2 of said contract, a sum equal to fifteen percent (15%)
of the Architect ' s total basic compensation, or $106, 950.00,
less the $25, 000.00 initial payment heretofore made to the
Architect under the provisions of Article II (c) of said
contract.
