RESOLUTION NO. 2001-24674
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF TWO K-9
DOGS, VALUED AT APPROXIMATELY $8,500.00 EACH, FOR A TOTAL
ESTIMATED VALUE OF $17,000.00, FROM BERNARD KLEP ACH, FOR USE
BY THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, Mr. Bernard Klepach, a long time Miami Beach resident, has
generously agreed to donate two (2) K-9 police dogs to the Miami Beach Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, these two (2) dogs are specifically trained to detect explosives and
will be used by the Miami Beach Police Department in its anti-terrorism initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the two (2) K-9's have an approximate value of $8,500.00 each for
a total estimated valued of $17,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the
Mayor and City Commission herein accept the donation of two (K-9) dogs, valued at
approximately $8,500 each, for a total estimated value of $17,000, from Bernard Klepach
for use by the Miami Beach Police Department.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution.
ANALYSIS
Mr. Bernard Klepach has generously agreed to donate to the Police Department, two new
K-9 police work dogs. Mr. Klepach is a long time Miami Beach resident and wanted to
show his appreciation to the Police Department by donating two new K-9 police dogs, with
an approximate value of $8,500.00 each, for a total estimated value of $17,000.00.
In light of the recent horrible events our nation has suffered because of the September 11
tragedies. these new K-9's are specifically trained to sniff explosives and will be used by
the Police Department in its anti-terrorism initiatives.
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission adopt the Resolution
and accept Mr. Klepach's kind and generous donation of these two new K-9's to the
citizens of the City.
