A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION AND
COMMENDATION TO IRVIN "SONNY" NEHAM
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, IRVIN "SONNY" NEHAM, has been a faithful,
devoted and inspired employee of the City of Miami Beach Parks
and Recreation Department for a quarter of a century; and
WHEREAS, the services of the said IRVIN "SONNY" NEHAM
to the City of Miami Beach, and its youth have been performed
with unparalleled zest, enthusiasm and inspiration, particularly
in his capacity as Athletic Supervisor, in cooperation with the
Nor-Isle Optimist Club in its athletic and football program,
culminating in the annual performance of the COCONUT BOWL Foot-
ball Classic, which annually pits the highest and best football
talent of the youth of the City of Miami Beach against the high-
est competition available throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, the close liaison maintained by the said
IRVIN "SONNY" NEHAM with the said Nor-Isle Optimist Club has
made the football program of the Nor-Isle Optimist Club, in
conjunction with the efforts of the City of Miami Beach Parks
and Recreation Department a model and a classic emulated, and
followed by similar groups and programs throughout the nation;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it meet and appropriate to formally and officially
recognize and commend the said IRVIN "SONNY" NEHAM for his devoted
and inspired efforts and accomplishments in the City of Miami Beach
Parks and Recreation Department, and particularly for his coopera-
tion and collaboration with the Nor-Isle Optimist Club in its
athletic and football program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said IRVIN' "SONNY" NEHAM
be and he is hereby highly commended for his stellar and outstanding
achievements and accomplishments in the said athletic program, and
that he be and he is hereby officially commended for his exemplary
services to the youth and to the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a suitably engraved facsimile or replica
of this Resolution be presented to said IRVIN "SONNY" NEHAM as a
permanent and durable memorial appreciation of this body for his
said services .
