RESOLUTION NO. 73-13900
A RESOLUTION APPLYING FOR FEDERAL
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, AND GRANTS
FROM THE FEDERAL LAND AND WATER
CONSERVATION FUND
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida has determined that it is in the best interest of said
City and its residents and inhabitants that the City of Miami
Beach should participate in the FEDERAL LAND AND WATER CONSER-
VATION FUND ACT of 1965 as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is a qualified ap-
plicant, being a public body, legally constituted, incorporated
and chartered by and pursuant to the Laws of the State of Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it does hereby formally
request the appropriate Federal officials and Federal bodies, that
the City of Miami Beach be declared eligible to participate in the
Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Program in the State of
Florida, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it does hereby formally certify to
the appropriate Federal officials and Federal bodies that the
City of Miami Beach was incorporated and chartered by the Legis-
lature of the State of Florida by the terms and provisions of
Chapter 7672, Laws of Florida 1917, duly enacted and becoming
law with the approval of the Governor of the State of Florida on
May 25, 1917, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Acting City Manager of the
City of Miami Beach, to-wit: FRANK R. SPENCE, City Hall, 1130
Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, be and he is hereby
designated as the individual to serve as the liaison agent between
this City and the appropriate Federal officials, bodies and
agencies , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said City Council does hereby
pledge and affirm its willingness , desire and intent to assist
the State in maintaining its eligibility to participate in the
Program created, delineated and afforded by the provisions of
said Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Act, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that duly certified copies of this
Resolution be transmitted to the proper Federal officials, bodies
or agencies as proof of the above and foregoing application, ex-
pressions of intent and commitments to comply.
