ORDINANCE NO. 506
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 394, AS
AMENDED, BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, IMPOSING LICENSES
AND OTHER TAXES ON PRIVILEGES, BUSINESSES,
OCCUPATIONS AND PROFESSIONS CARRIED ON AND
ENGAGED IN WITHIN SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIB-
ING PENALTIES FOR THE EXERCISING OF SUCH
PRIVILEGES OR CARRYING ON SUCH BUSINESSES,
OCCUPATIONS, OR PROFESSIONS, WITHOUT A
LICENSE OR OTHER FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH
THE PROVISIONS THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 394 be and the same is
hereby amended, under the title "AMUSEMENT AND RECREA-
TION" , by eliminating certain items therefrom and in-
serting certain items in lieu thereof as follows:
Eliminating:
"BILLIARD, pool or bagatelle tables, persons
maintaining same for profit directly or in-
directly, or the proprietor thereof, for
each table $ 25.00"
Inserting in lieu thereof:
"BILLIARD, or pool tables, persons maintain-
ing same for profit directly or indirectly,
or the proprietor thereof, each table . . . . $ 2.50"
SECTION 2: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 394 be and the same
is hereby amended, under the title "PROFESSIONAL"
by eliminating therefrom the following item:
"Attorneys-at-law".
SECTION 3: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 394 be and the same
is hereby amended under the title "MISCELLANEOUS" by
eliminating therefrom the item:
"Stock Brokers" . . . . . . . $ 200.00"
and inserting in lieu thereof:
"Stock Brokers . $ 200.00
(Provided, however, if branch establishments
are maintained at other locations , for each
branch establishment) . . . $ 50.00"
and by inserting under the said title "MISCELLANEOUS" , the
following items :
"Attorneys-.at-law . $ 15.00"
"Private Schools (Schools, colleges or other
educational or training institutions oper-
ated for profit) for each place of business $ 25.00"

SECTION 14: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.

City of Miami Beach, Florida, do hereby certify that Ordinance
No. 506 entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 394, AS AMENDED, BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, IMPOSING LICENSES AND OTHER TAXES
ON PRIVILEGES, BUSINESSES, OCCUPATIONS AND PROFESSIONS CARRIED ON
AND ENGAGED IN WITHIN SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE
EXERCISING OF SUCH PRIVILEGES OR CARRYING ON SUCH BUSINESSES,
OCCUPATIONS, OR PROFESSIONS, WITHOUT A LICENSE OR OTHER FAILURE
TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS THEREOF" , having been passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
has been posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of
Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall in
said City on the 4th day of December, A. D. , 1937, and that said
ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty days
in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the
said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the lath day of January, A. D. , 1938.
