A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION AND APPRECIA •

TION FROM THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ITS CITIZENS AND
RESIDENTS , TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH FIRE RESCUE SQUAD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself, its individual members, and on behalf
of all of the citizens and residents of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, that each and every individual member of the CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH FIRE RESCUE SQUAD be and they are hereby personally
and officially praised and commended for the highly exemplary
manner in which they performed their duties and responsibilities
during the conflagration at the Concord Cafeteria, 1921 Collins
Avenue, Miami Beach, on February 2 , 1973 . The swift, immediate
and valorous manner in which they responded to the emergency
confronted them merits the highest possible praise and commenda-
tion of this community. Their valor and heedless disregard of
their own personal safety is responsible for the saving of many
lives . The residents and citizens of this community are, and
will continue to be, profoundly appreciative and grateful. to
each and every member of this special unit of the City of Miami
Beach Fire Department, and the community derives the utmost pride
and confidence in this latest manifestation of the complete and
total preparedness with which these exemplary members of the
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE RESCUE SQUAD meet the call of any
emergency.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread
upon the minutes of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, and that authenticated copies thereof be presented to
the members of the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE RESCUE SQUAD and
for distribution to all interested personnel.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of February 1973 .
