A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION AND APPRECIA-
TION FROM THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ITS CITIZENS AND
RESIDENTS TO THE OFFICERS AND ALL MEMBERS
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself, its individual members and on behalf of
all the citizens and residents of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
that the officers and all members of the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE
DEPARTMENT be and they are hereby personally and officially praised
and commended for the exemplary manner' in which they and each of
them performed their duties and responsibilities during the -unfortunate
conflagration which enveloped the Concord Cafeteria, 1921 Collins
Avenue, Miami Beach, on February 2 , 1973 . The exemplary and highly
professional manner in which they and each of them performed their
duties and responsibilities under the most difficult emergency condi-
tions merits the warmest commendation and approbation of the entire
community. Their valor and intrepidity in performing their duties,
at great danger and hazard to their own personal safety, is responsible
for the saving of countless lives and averted a tragedy of potentially
disastrous magnitude. The residents and citizens of this community
are profoundly appreciative of the exemplary manner in which the
personnel of the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT comported
themselves . The residents and citizens of this community take
great pride and experience the most profound confidence in this
exemplary demonstration of the preparedness of the CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT to meet the demand and exigencies of any
emergency which may arise.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread
upon the minutes of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, and that authenticated copies thereof be presented to
the members of the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT and for
distribution to all interested personnel.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of February, 1973.
