73-13916 RESOLUTION NO. 73-13916 WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, the Certificate of two members of said City Council and the City Clerk-Finance Director as the Canvassing Committee of said City Council of the results of the canvass of the returns of the Special Election held in said City on February 20, 1973,and WHEREAS, the said Canvassing Committee has duly canvassed said returns and certified the returns of said Election, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby adopts the said Certificate as to the results of said Election and it is hereby ordered that the same Certificate and this Resolution be recorded in the minutes of this meeting as a permanent record of the results of said Election. AND IT IS FURTHER FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED that the following candidate for Councilman, Group 1 , received the highest number of votes cast, and is hereby declared ELECTED: FOR CITY COUNCILMAN GROUP 1 Dr. Simon Wikler AND IT IS FURTHER DULY FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED THAT QUESTIONS 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5 AND 6 WERE APPROVED, AND QUESTION 7 WAS DISAPPROVED. No. 2, Plat Book 4, page 162, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida; All of Blocks 17, 18, 19, and 20, Altos Del Mar No. 1 , Plat Book 31 , page 40, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida? 4,267 votes were cast FOR THE BONDS, and 3,845 votes were cast AGAINST THE BONDS. QUESTION 3: Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of $1 ,250,000 with interest at a rate to be determined, but not to exceed the maximum rate permitted by law, for the purpose of acquiring and developing additions needed to complete the Civic-Convention Center Complex land plan adjoining and in proximity to the City's Garden Center and Conservatory, otherwise legally described as follows: Lot 2, Block 7A, Amended Golf Course Sub. , Plat Book 6, Page 26, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, together with 30' strip on easterly property line knownas "Bridle Path"; N. 50 ' of Lot 1 , Block 7A, Amended Golf Course Sub. , Plat Book 6, page 26, of the Public Records of Dade County, F1( rida, together with 30' strip on easterly property line known as "Bridle Path"; S . 100' of Northerly 150' of Lot 1 , Block 7A, Amended Golf Course Sub. , Plat Book 6, page 26, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, together with 30' strip on easterly property line known as "Bridle Path"? 4,086 votes were cast FOR THE BONDS, and 3,977 votes were cast AGAINST THE BONDS. QUESTION 4: Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of $1 ,300,000 with interest at a rate to be determined, but not to exceed the maximum rate permitted by law, for the purpose of acquiring and developing the following described parcel of land located at the northeast corner of 18th Street and Meridian Avenue for the purpose of com- pleting the Civic-Convention Center Complex land plan and as a proposed site for the new City Hall , said parcel of land being legally described as follows: Lots 1 and 2, Block 7, Amended Golf Course Sub. , Plat Book 6, page 26, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, together with 30' strip on easterly property line known as "Bridle Path"? 4,084 votes were cast FOR THE BONDS, and 3,954 votes were cast AGAINST THE BONDS . -2- • - QUESTION 5: Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of $1 , 100,000 with interest at a rate to be determined, but not to exceed the maximum rate permitted by law, for the purpose of acquiring and developing for parks, recreational and open space purposes, the following described parcel of land being the property adjacent to the Manilow property on Pine Tree Drive, to wit: Lots 5, 6 and 7, Flamingo Bay Sub No. 1 , Plat Book 6, page 101 , of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida? 3,948 votes were cast FOR THE BONDS , and 3,657 votes were cast AGAINST THE BONDS . QUESTION 6: Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of $300,000 with interest at a rate to be determined, but not to exceed the maximum rate permitted by law, for the purpose of purchasing, constructing, and adding an addition to the South Shore Community Center of a multi-purpose meeting room? 4,301 votes were cast FOR THE BONDS , and 3, 778 votes were cast AGAINST THE BONDS. QUESTION 7: Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of $700,000 with interest at a rate to be determined, but not to exceed the maximum rate permitted by law, for the purpose of purchasing and acquiring equipment and furnishings for the Convention Hall expansion? 4,005 votes were cast FOR THE BONDS, and 4,026 votes were cast AGAINST THE BONDS.
