RESOLUTION NO. 73-13948
WHEREAS, SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH COMPANY has
offered to lease to the City of Miami Beach certain telephone com-
munication service and equipment known as "Centrex II C. O. , " the
term of the proposed initial lease to be for a period of thirty-six
(36) months commencing with the date of transfer of existing service
into the proposed new service, and
WHEREAS , under the terms of the proposed agreement, the
said lease shall be terminable at the will of the City in the event
that the proposed new system does not effectuate anticipated econo-
mies in the cost of the operation of the City' s existing telephone
system, or otherwise in the City' s discretion, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that said agree-
ment be entered into, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems and finds it to be in the best interests of the
City of Miami Beach and its citizens that said lease agreement
be entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the appropriate officials
of the City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to do
and perform such action as shall be necessary to effectuate this
resolution for the entry into said proposed lease agreement.
