RESOLUTION NO. 73-13977 PI
WHEREAS, on April 23 , 1970, the Electorate of the
City of Miami Beach authorized and approved the issuance of
$5,500, 000 Bond Issue for the purpose of constructing a
municipal, administrative and police court building, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for such construction that
qualified Architects, Engineers, and Planners be retained for
the purpose of drawing the requisite plans and specifications
for such construction, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has heretofore authorized and directed the City Manager to
interview all qualified and interested Architects, Engineers,
and Planners for a determination of their suitability and
availability to perform such services for the City of Miami
Beach, and
WHEREAS, following such inquiry and determination,
City Manager has recommended the employment of Grove/Haack &
Associates and Bouterese-Borrelli-Albaisa, as such Architects ,
Engineers, and Planners for said purpose and has recommended
that an appropriate agreement be entered into between the City
of Miami Beach and said Architects, Engineers and Planners at
a fee of 6.3% based upon a total anticipated maximum construc-
tion cost of $5, 800,000; said contract providing for a division
of services into two parts ; i.e., Part I consisting of Programming
with a maximum fee of $34, 800 for the performance of the services
called for by said Part I ; and a maximum fee of $330,600 for
Part II consisting of the Design and remaining portions of
said architectural, engineering and planning services ; and
said proposed agreement providing for the right of either party
to terminate said agreement, with or without cause, upon seven
days ' notice, and
WHEREAS, City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has considered the recommendation of the City Manager,
and has further considered the provisions of said employment
agreement, said agreement having been duly approved as to form
by the City Attorney,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that recommendation of the
City Manager for the employment of Grove/Haack & Associates and
Bouterese-Borrelli-Albaisa as Architects, Engineers and Planners,
and the agreement, be and the same are hereby accepted and
approved and said agreement, the terms and provisions thereof
being familiar to the City Council, be and they are also hereby
approved, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF M.MI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver the same in the name of the City
and the proper financial officers of the City of Miami Beach are
hereby authorized and directed to make financial payments in
accordance with said agreement.
