RESOLUTION NO. 73-13979
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has entered into a
Grant Contract with the United States of America acting through
the Department of Housing and Urban Development for financial
assistance under Section 703 of the Housing and Urban Develop-
ment Act of 1965, to finance a portion of the development cost
of a neighborhood facility, known as Project No. Fla. N-15 ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said contract, the Government and
the Comptroller General of the United States or his duly authorized
representatives have the right to audit the books and records of
the City of Miami Beach pertinent to its operations with respect
to such financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, the Government has authorized the City of
Miami Beach to procure such an audit by an Independent Public
Accountant in lieu of audit by the Government, subject to
Government approval of the specific contract for audit entered
into between the City and the Independent Public Accountant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach desires the firm of
Singer, Sobel, and Hunter, Certified Public Accountants, to
conduct and perform such an audit; and
WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared, the form of
which was recommended by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development, and approved as to form by the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the contract provides for compensation of
not over $1, 500. , inclusive of all costs and expenses ; and
WHEREAS, it is the best interests of the residents
of the City of Miami Beach, that the City Council authorize
said contract with Singer, Sobel, and Hunter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that Mayor and the City Clerk-
Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to execute the said agreement in the name of and on behalf of
said City of Miami Beach, and the disbursing officers of the
City are hereby authorized and directed to disburse the monies
required by the terms of said agreement from funds of the City
available for such purpose.
