A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SENIOR JUDGE
OF DADE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT TO ESTAB-
LISH BRANCH COUNTY COURT IN THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, under and pursuant to the provisions of
Article V of the Constitution of the State of Florida, recently
approved and adopted by the electorate of the State of Florida,
a system of County Courts has been established throughout the
State, including Dade County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the civil jurisdiction of said County
Court is up to and including the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($2, 500. 00) , and
WHEREAS, the interests and convenience of the citizens
and residents of the City of Miami Beach requires and calls for
the establishment of a branch of said County Court within the
corporate limits of the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach does hereby commit
and pledge itself to making available for the use of said branch
of the said County Court suitable and proper courtroom facilities
within the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Honorable Thomas E.
Lee, Jr. , the administrative Judge of the Dade County Circuit
Court be and he is hereby respectfully requested and petitioned
to exercise his power and authority in the premises and to cause
to be created a branch of the said County Court in the corporate
limits of the City of Miami Beach for the use and convenience of
the residents, citizens and tax payers of the City of Miami Beach
and that the said Honorable Thomas E. Lee, Jr. be and he is here-
by further assured the City of Miami Beach will supply and make
available for use by the said Miami Beach division of the said
County Court suitable and appropriate quarters and accommodations
therefor,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that action be taken
upon the matters and things hereinabove set forth at the earliest
possible date and that certified copies of this Resolution be
transmitted to the Honorable Thomas E. Lee, Jr. and to the
Honorable Richard P. Brinker, Clerk of the Circuit Court.
