LETTER TO COMMISSION
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform the Mayor and Commission that the Office
of Capital Improvement Projects will commence construction of the Muss Park seawall on
Monday, July 17, 2017. This project is located at 4300 Chase Avenue.
The project includes the demolition and replacement of the existing seawall with a new steel
sheet pile seawall and cap, new fencing, gates, new concrete walkways, new landscaping and
irrigation upgrades.
The project construction will take approximately three (3) months to complete. While the project
is in progress, the contractor will work within the project construction staging area, and may use
floating platforms in the waterway. Please note that Muss Park is presently closed due to
construction of new pavilion building and site improvements.
The attached fact sheet is being distributed throughout the neighborhood via e-mail and door to
door distribution.

What's New
On July 17, 2017, the City of Miami Beach Office of
Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) will commence
construction of the Muss Park seawall. Upon
completion of the project, the park will have a newly
constructed seawall that will stabilize the ground
and protect recreational facilities from the waterway.
Scope of Work
• Demolition and replacement of the existing seawall
with a new sheet pile seawall and cap
• New fencing, gates and new concrete walkways
• New landscaping
• New irrigation upgrades
The project construction will take approximately
three (3) months to complete. While the project is
in progress, the contractor will work within the project
construction staging area, and may use floating
platforms in the waterway. Please note that
Muss Park is presently closed due to construction
of new pavilion building and site
improvements. Work hours are from 8 a.m. to
6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note
that this schedule could change due to
inclement weather or unforeseen conditions.
Extended weekend work hours are subject to
City approval.
