A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AGREEMENT WITH LAURA GHISELLINI, FOR THE
RETENTION OF HER SERVICES AS SYSTEMS
ENGINEER IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
COMPUTERS AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Commision of the City of Miami Beach has
determined that it is necessary to employ the professional services of an
Independent Contractor for computer engineering services for the Computers
and Communications Department of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, The Computers and Communications Department
has been allotted and budgeted funds through the City's General Fund for the
compensation of said Independent Contractor.
WHEREAS, The City Manager has recommended to the City
Commission that the City continue the agreement with Laura Ghisellini for a six
months term beginning October 1, 1982, and ending March 31, 1983, at a bi-
weekly salary of $971.30 for a minimum of 40 hours per week, providing that
aforesaid individual provides certain specialized professional services to the
Computers and Communications Department of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, an appropriate agreement has been prepared and
approved in form by the City Attorney setting forth the terms and conditions of
said employment; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, being familiar with the
provisions of said agreement, deems it to be in the best interests of the City and
its citizens and residents to enter into said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City
Manager is hereby authorized and directed to extend said agreement with Laura
Ghisellini in the name of and on behalf of the CITY, and that the disbursing
officers of the City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to disburse
the monies required by the terms of said agreement from funds of the City
available for said purpose.

SUBJECT: COMPUTERS AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT
BACKGROUND:
The Computers and Communications Department is continuing the
implementation of the new Hewlett Packard Computer System. The Department
has a continuing need of personnel who have expertise with this computer and
has not been able to fill several open positions with appropriate staff.
Therefore, the Department is requesting that Systems Engineer currently under
contract, having the needed expertise, be extended.
COSTS:
For professional services from October 1, 1982 through March 31, 1983 -
$12,626.80
FUNDING:
Funds were budgeted and are available from 1-11-9324-519.355 (Computer
Equipment and Software).
ADMINISTATION RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the attached Resolution to extend the current contract for
Professional Services.
