A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR
PROFESSIONAL APPRAISAL SERVICES TO EARLE A. GIDDENS
AND ASSOCIATES, INC. AND C. GEORGE HEDG-PETH, M.A.I.
(THE HEDG-PETH COMPANY) FOR THE APPRAISALS OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH 143.8 ACRE OJUS PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the Administration has reviewed proposals received from respondents
on the request for proposals on the use of the Ojus Property; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that no current appraisal of the property is
available; and
WHEREAS, in order to assure that the City of Miami Beach receives a fair
market rate of return on its real estate assets either through a sale or long term lease; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration has solicited proposals for appraisal services
from seventeen M.A.I. professionals on the Ojus tract; and
WHEREAS, Earle A. Giddens and Associates, Inc. and C. George Hedg-peth,
M.A.I. (The Hedg-peth Company) responded to and quoted the lowest proposal for
professional services for the necessary appraisals of the Ojus Property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City of Miami Beach award contracts for professional
appraisal services to Earle A. Giddens and Associates, Inc. and C. George Hedg-peth,
M.A.I., (The Hedg-peth Company) for the appraisals of the Ojus Property.
SECTION 2. That funds be utilized from the contingency fund for the payment
of said appraisals in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
