A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPART-
MENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES FOR THE RETARDATION
PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THREE CONTRACTS TO PROVIDE
SERVICES.
WHEREAS , on August 18 , 1982 , the City Commission adopted Resolu-
17082 which authorized the City Manager to apply to the State of
Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services for a grant
to provide a developmental training program for mentally retarded
adults , and;
WHEREAS , such application was made, and the State of Florida has
offered a grant of $13 ,818. 00 for a period of one month, to be followed
by an eight month grant offer, as explained in the attached Commission
Memorandum, and;
WHEREAS , authorization is given for the execution of subsequent
contracts during fiscal year 82-83 that will be offered by H.R. S. ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this grant offered from the State of Florida
be accepted; and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute the contracts to provide developmental training for
35 mentally retarded adults at the Miami Beach Activity Center.
