A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH AGREEING TO A LEASE BETWEEN THE
CITY AND THE MIAMI BEACH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
FOR THE COLONY THEATRE.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach is the owner of a
certain parcel of land and certain facilities at 1040 Lincoln
Road Mall , Miami Beach, Florida and the Lessee desires to use
the property for a performing arts center; and
WHEREAS , the City desires to promote cultural pro-
grams and facilities; and
WHEREAS , the proposed use of the property as a per-
forming arts center would provide an important cultural compo-
nent to the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach desires to actively
participate in providing such facilities in the City of Miami
Beach by providing such facilities in the City of Miami Beach
by providing the building known as the Colony Theatre,
NOW. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that a lease be entered
into between the City and the Miami Beach Development Corpora-
tion for the Colony Theatre.
