A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE
PROVISION OF PLANNING AND RELATED PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City agrees to provide to the Agency certain
legal -- planning services relative to the development and adoption
of a revised Redevelopment Plan for the South Beach Redevelopment
Project Area; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized and empowered to enter
into contracts for the provision of such services; and
WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Act establishes that
the Agency is a public body corporate and politic which may engage
such technical experts as it may require; and
WHEREAS , the City represents that it has the expertise to
provide such services to the Agency;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of
the City of Miami Beach:
The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a
contract with the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency (a copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A" ) whereby
the City agrees to provide certain legal-planning services leading
toward and including the development of a revised Redevelopment Plan
for the South Beach area by June 15, 1983 for the amount of SEVENTY-
FIVE THOUSAND ($75 ,000. 00) DOLLARS , and providing additional
planning sub-contracting services to the City for the amount of
FIFTY THOUSAND ($50 ,000. 00) DOLLARS, for a total sum of ONE HUNDRED
TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND ($125,000. 00) DOLLARS, which shall be payable
to the City from current Agency assets.
