A RESOLUTION SCHEDULING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
"ANNUAL TREE GIVE-AWAY" FOR MARCH 25 , 1983.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Parks Division has , for the
past 26 years , distributed trees at no cost to the property owners of
Miami Beach ; and
WHEREAS, said event has been in observation of the anniversary
of the founding of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS , the City Nursery has grown approximately 750 trees
in anticipation of said event; and
WHEREAS, said event preserves and extends the beauty and
greenery of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Administration shall schedule
the City of Miami Beach Annual Tree Give-Away for Friday, March 25 , 1983.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of March, 1983

SUBJECT: ANNUAL TREE GIVE-AWAY ON CITY ANNIVERSARY, MARCH 26, 1983
The Parks Division, for the past twenty-six years, has
distributed free trees to the freeholders of Miami Beach
in observance of the anniversary of the founding of the
City on March 26th.
These materials are grown in the City Nursery specifically
for this event. The number available for distribution each
year depends on prevailing growth conditions. This year there
will be about 750 trees (approximately one to two feet, in cans)
for distribution.
With Commission approval, the Administration will schedule this
popular event, which receives considerable coverage by all news
media, for Friday, March 25, 1983.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution continuing the City of Miami Beach's tradition
of distributing free trees to freeholders.
