A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA ENDORSING THE ACTIONS
OF OUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES BARRY KUTUN, HAL
SPAET AND MICHAEL FRIEDMAN IN SPONSORING A BILL
BEFORE THE LEGISLATURE WHICH WILL INCREASE THE
MIAMI BEACH RESORT TAX BY TWO PERCENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of in-
creasing the size of the Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, an increase in the resort taxes would finance
a significant portion of the construction costs; and
WHEREAS, the increased resort tax would apply only to
the rental on hotel rooms;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA ENDORSES THE ACTIONS OF OUR
STATE REPRESENTATIVES BARRY KUTUN, HAL SPAET AND MICHAEL FRIED-
MAN.
