RESOLUTION NO. 83-17319
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPOINTING SIX MEMBERS TO THE PRIVATE
INDUSTRY COUNCIL TO BE FORMED UNDER
THE PROVISIONS OF THE JOB TRAINING
PARTNERSHIP ACT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution #83-17243,
passed and adopted January 19, 1983, approved a process for the establishment of a
Private Industry Council (PIC) to be appointed under the provisions of the Job
Training Partnership Act; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution is in full force and effect; and
WHEREAS, nominations have been received in accordance with said
process from which the City Commission is to select and appoint three Private
Sector representatives, and three Public Sector representatives; and
WHEREAS, the said nominations have been reviewed by the City
Manager and certain recommendations have been made by him.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the following persons are hereby
appointed to membership in the said P.I.C.:
1. Private Sector -
(a) Hotels/Motels: Mario DeRay,Dir.Personnel-Doral Beach Hotel
(b) Other Services: Edward Margolis,V.P.-Comm.Svc.Broadcasters
(c) Retail Trade: Ken Fordik,V.P.Personnel-Burdines
2. Public Sector -
(a) Economic Development: Ms.Gladys Kane,Dir.Comm.Affrs.
& Hmn.Svc.-CMB
(b) Community Based Organizations: Ms.Beverly Phillips,Exec.Dir.
Y.W.C.A. Gr.Miami & Dade County
(c) Organized Labor: Mr. H.C. S chromm, Field Rep.
AFL-CIO, United Labor Agency
