SUBJECT: WATER TAXI PILOT PROGRA SERVICE COMMENCEMENT
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to provide a status update regarding the
commencement of a one (1) year Water Taxi Pilot Program.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 2016-29370, adopted by the City Commission, the Administration
negotiated an Agreement with Water Taxi Miami, Inc., for a one (1) year Water Taxi Pilot
Program using Purdy Avenue Dock. The temporary Water Taxi service will be serving Purdy
Avenue Dock, Sea Isle Marina (Omni), Bayside Marketplace and Miami Beach Marina. As per
the Agreement with Water Taxi Miami, Inc., the pilot service was soft-launched on December
30, 2016. Attached, please find a brochure with more information on the pilot water taxi service.
Pursuant to City Commission directive, quarterly update reports including ridership, marketing
efforts and revenue will be provided via LTC.
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, January 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Purdy
Avenue Dock (just west of Purdy Avenue/18 Street intersection).
