RESOLUTION NO. 99-23143
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$17,220 INTO A WORK ORDER FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO
THE TRIANGULAR ISLAND, LOCATED AT THE
INTERSECTION OF 47TH COURT AND 48TH STREET,
ADJACENT TO THE MIAMI HEART INSTITUTE
WHEREAS, the City has worked with the Miami Heart Institute to develop a plan for
improving the triangular island adjacent to the Miami Heart Institute; and
WHEREAS, at the November 18, 1998 City Commission meeting, the Miami Heart Institute
presented a donation, in the amount of $17,220, to the City to pay for improvements to that area; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements to the "triangle" will include parking, lighting,
landscaping, irrigation, striping, and pavement markings; and
WHEREAS, this appropriation will allow for implementation of the improvements to the
area.
NOW, THEREF,ORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission herein approve an appropriation, in the amount of $17,220, into a work order for
improvements to the triangular island, located at the intersection of 47th Court and 48th Street,
adjacent to the Miami Heart Institute.

Adopt the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The City has worked with the Miami Heart Institute to develop a plan for improving the triangular
island adjacent to the Miami Heart Institute. At the November 18, 1998 Commission meeting, the
Miami Heart Institute presented a donation in the amount of $17,220 to the City to pay for
improvements to the area.
ANAL YSIS
The proposed improvements to the triangle will i elude parking, lighting, landscaping, irrigation,
striping and pavement markings. This work will e performed by city staff and is scheduled to be
completed in July, 1999.
CONCLUSION
This appropriation will allow for implementation of the improvements to the area.
