A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, URGING THE U.S. CONFERENCE OF
MAYORS TO PASS NEW LEGISLATION
MAINTAINING THE PRESENT LEVELS OF
FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, Florida has devoted
its Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to the maintenance of its Fire
Rescue and Police departments; and,
WHEREAS, any curtailment of these funds would result in
severe cutbacks in a City Budget that has already been severely
impacted by static revenues and abolition of other Federal Programs;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED that the
City of Miami Beach urges passage of new legislation maintaining the
present levels of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds.
