A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE
AGREEMENT WITH FREILICH AND LEITNER, P.C.
(HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS CONSULTANTS) FOR
THE PROVISION OF LEGAL AND RELATED CONSULT-
ING SERVICES RELATIVE TO THE SCOPE OF THE
SERVICES AS SET FORTH IN THE JANUARY 19 ,
1983 AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND FREILICH
& LEITNER, P.C. , AND RESOLUTION NO. 82-17223
AUTHORIZING SAID AGREEMENT; WHICH AMENDMENT
PROVIDES FOR AN INCREASE OF $25 ,000 FOR THE
COMPENSATION OF THESE CONSULTANTS WHICH
SHALL BE PAYABLE FROM THE GENERAL CONTINGEN-
CY ACCOUNT AFTER THE RENDITION OF CONSULT-
ANTS ' MONTHLY BILL; OTHERWISE CONTINUING
FUNDING FOR THE CONSULTANTS ' LEGAL AND RE-
LATED PLANNING SERVICES AS SET FORTH IN RES-
OLUTION NO. 82-17223 AND THE AFOREMENTIONED
JANUARY 19 , 1983 AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the valuable
services currently being performed by Freilich and Leitner , P.C.
relative to the South Beach Redevelopment Project Area planning
and plan implementation in accordance with the completion of the
revised Redevelopment Plan and its adoption and approval proc-
ess, as well as incidental services related thereto, including
disposition of South Shore Redevelopment claims, initiation of
specific redevelopment projects, and on-going legal and related
consulting services as may be needed, to advance and effectuate
the redevelopment project to final completion; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has been apprised (by the
City Administration) that Consultants provided extensive litiga-
tion services during the period of December 17 , 1982 through May
5 , 1983 that were not contemplated by the January 19 , 1983
agreement between the City and Consultant as contained in Part A
of that Agreement; and
WHEREAS, Section 6 of this Agreement provides for
written amendments as may be deemed necessary in the scope of
services, time for performance, amount of compensation, and
other provisions of the Agreement as are mutually agreed upon by
the parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor is authorized

to execute an amendment to the Agreement with Freilich and
Leitner , P.C. which amendment is deemed as being attached hereto
and made a part hereof, providing for an increase of $25 ,000 in
the amount of compensation paid to Consultants Freilich and
Leitner , P.C. for the period of January 19 , 1983 through June
15 , 1983 , payable upon the rendition of Consultants ' next month-
ly bill, which moneys shall be drawn from the General Fund Con-
tingency Account, as may be necessary.
