A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH INFORMING THE DADE
COUNTY COMMISSION THAT THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH IS EXTREMELY INTERESTED IN BRINGING A
GROUND LEVEL DOWNTOWN PEOPLE MOVER SYSTEM TO
MIAMI BEACH AND WILL WORK WITH DADE COUNTY
AUTHORITIES TO DESIGN A MUTUALLY ACCEPTABLE
SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of
bringing a ground level Downtown People Mover System to Miami
Beach and specifically to the Convention Center area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach realizes that this
system would greatly enhance the mobility of the residents and
tourists of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to have an operating
people mover system available as soon as possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMIS-
SION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH inform the Dade County
Commission that the City of Miami Beach is extremely interested
in bringing a ground level downtown people mover system to Miami
Beach and will work with Dade County authorities to design a
mutually acceptable system.
