A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH PROVIDING FOR A TEN
PERCENT ACROSS THE BOARD INCREASE IN SALARY
TO ALL PHYSICIANS EMPLOYED IN THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH FIRE RESCUE SERVICES, TO BECOME
EFFECTIVE RETROACTIVE TO JANUARY 1, 1983 .
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1906 , providing for emergency
medical services to be provided by licensed physicians
accompanying Fire Rescue personnel was adopted by the City
Commission of the City of Miami Beach pursuant to a vote of the
Electorate on November 2 , 1971; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach is desirous of providing a ten percent across the board
increase in salary to licensed physicians employed in the Fire
Rescue Services; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach deems it in the best interest of said City, its citizens
and residents to provide an increase as hereinabove set forth so
that compensation will be competitive with local emergency room
physicians and enable the City to retain our experienced
physicians; and
WHEREAS, there are Federal Revenue Sharing Funds
available for this increase;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMIS-
SION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH provide for a ten percent across
the board increase in salary to all physicians employed in the
City of Miami Beach Fire Rescue Services, to become effective
retroactive to January 1, 1983 .
