RESOLUTION NO. 83-17404
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT EFFECTIVE UPON APPROVAL
OF THE GOVERNING BODIES OF THE COUNTY AND THE
CITIES OF MIAMI, HIALEAH AND MIAMI BEACH BETWEEN
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE AFORESAID
GOVERNING BODIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISTRIBUTING
THE FUNDS COLLECTED FROM THE LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX.
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County approved on July 5, 1983 a 4 a
gallon local option gas tax; and
WHEREAS, prior to and in anticipation of the passage of the local
option gas tax, Metropolitan Dade County and the Cities of Miami,
Hialeah and Miami Beach negotiated an Interlocal Agreement
pursuant to Section 336. 025 of the Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach to
execute this agreement in order to receive the maximum benefits
from the local option gas tax;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor is hereby and duly
authorized to enter into and execute an Interlocal Agreement with
Metropolitan Dade County and the Cities of Miami and Hialeah for
the purpose of distributing the funds collected from the local
option gas tax.
