A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA REQUESTING
EXEMPTION FROM TAXES ON THE PROPERTY ACQUIRED
BY THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FOR THE NEW CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH POLICE AND COURTS FACILITY,
COMPOSED OF THOSE PROPERTIES IDENTIFIED AND
DESCRIBED AS LOTS 1, 3 , 4 , 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9, 10 ,
11, AND 12, BLOCK 37, OCEAN BEACH ADDITION NO.
3 , AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 2 AT PAGE 81 OF
THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
FROM THEIR DATES OF ACQUISITION, PURSUANT TO
FLORIDA STATUTES §196. 199.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 73 of the Florida
Statutes, the City of Miami Beach, Florida has acquired for the
new police and courts facility, Lots 1, 3 , 4, 5 , and 12, Block 37,
OCEAN BEACH ADDITION NO. 3, as recorded in Plat Book 2 at Page 81
of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, on July 6 , 1983,
and Lots 6 , 7 , 8 , 9, 10 , and 11, Block 37 , OCEAN BEACH ADDITION
NO. 3, as recorded in Plat Book 2 at Page 81 of the Public Records
of Dade County, Florida, on May 17 , 1983, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the City of Miami Beach
herewith formally requests exemption from taxes on the properties
herein set forth from the date of acquisition thereof pursuant to
Florida Statutes §196.199;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the certified copies of this
Resolution be transmitted forthwith to the County Manager of Dade
County, Florida and to the various County tax officials.
