A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING THE CLOSING OF BAYSHORE
GOLF COURSE ON JANUARY 14, 1984 FOR THE USE OF THE
PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA FOR THEIR
GOLF TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS, for the reasons more particularly set forth in
Commission Memorandum No. 477-83 , the City Commission of
the City of Miami Beach finds it in the best interest of the City
to close Bayshore Golf Course on January 14, 1984 for the purpose
of the golf tournament being held by the Professional Golfers
Association of America.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends closing the golf course
on January 14, 1984 and the City Attorney has approved same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Bayshore Golf Course will be
closed to the public on January 14, 1984.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of July ,1983.

SUBJECT: CLOSING OF BAYS ORE GOLF COURSE ON JANUARY 14, 1984
Attached is a letter from the Professional Golfers Association
of America requesting the privilege of using Bayshore Golf Course
for their golf tournament on Saturday, January 14, 1984.
The Professional Golfers Association pays the greens fee charges
for this event.
Bayshore Golf Course will have to be closed to the public for the
entire day as there are usually about 120 players and a luncheon
is also scheduled in the clubhouse.
The Professional Golfers Association has been holding this golf
tournament each year in conjunction with the annual PGA Merchandise
Show (January 15-18, 1984) while it is held at the Miami Beach
Convention Center and it has been approved by the City Commission
in the previous years .
The January, 1983 event was approved on Resolution No. 82-17081
on August 18, 1982.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
This tournament brings very desirable exposure to the City with
such a prestigious group as the Professional Golfers Association
of America. Recommend approval .
