SUBJECT: Relocation of Fire Hydrants at Bis ayne Beach Neighborhood
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is t provide information to the Mayor and City
Commission that on Monday, July 31, 2017, the Office of Capital Improvement Projects will
commence the Relocation of Fire Hydrants Project at Biscayne Beach Neighborhood to gain
additional parking spaces. The project limits are 861h Street to the North, 79th Street to the
South, Crespi Boulevard to the East and Hawthorne Avenue to the West.
The project includes the relocation of eight (8) fire hydrants and connection to the existing water
main at various locations within Biscayne Beach Neighborhood, as well as the modification to
existing bump outs to obtain 13 additional car parking spaces and 4 additional
motorcycle/scooter spaces.
The project will take approximately two (2) months. Temporary lane closures are expected and
parking spaces may not be available in the surrounding work areas during operating hours.
Signalization will be implemented in accordance with approved maintenance of traffic plans.
The attached fact sheet is being distributed throughout the neighborhood via e-mail and door to
door distribution.

Proiects Starts in July 2017
Overview
Beginning the week of July 31, 2017, the City of
Miami Beach Office of Capital Improvements
Projects (CIP) will relocate 8 fire hydrants in your
neighborhood in order to gain 13 additional car
parking spaces and 4 additional motorcycle/
scooter spaces. This improvement meets current
safety standards for Miami Beach neighborhoods,
and will aid the Fire Department in better servicing
you if and when an emergency arises. Project limits
include 86 Street to 79 Street and Crespi Boulevard
to Hawthorne Avenue.
Scope of Work
The scope of work for this project entails the
relocation of 8 fire hydrants. You can expect to see
temporary trenches in the roadway while fire
hydrant relocation is in progress; trenches will be
restored at the end of each work day. Parking
restrictions will occur on the surrounding work

Timeline
The construction duration for this project is
approximately 2 months. Work hours are 8 a.m. to
6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note that
this schedule could change due to inclement
weather or other unforeseen conditions. Extended
work hours are subject to City approval and
Homeowner Association notification.

El proyecto comenzara en julio de 2017
Perspectiva General
La Oficina de Proyectos de Mejorias Capitales de la Ciudad
de Miami Beach (GIP) comenzara el proyecto la semana
del 31 de julio. El proyecto consiste en la reubicaci6n de 8
hidrantes en su vecindario con el objetivo de incrementar el
numero de plazas de estacionamiento. Esta mejora cumple
con los estandares de seguridad para los vecindarios de
Miami Beach y ayudara al Departamento de Prevenci6n de
lncendios a mejorar su servicio en caso de emergencia. Los
limites del proyecto incluyen de la calle 86 a la calle 79 y de
Crespi Boulevard a la Avenida Hawthorne.
Alcance Del Trabaio
El alcance del trabajo para este proyecto requiere la
reubicaci6n de 8 hidrantes. Se preve la existencia de zanjas
temporales en la calle durante el proceso de reubicaci6n de
los hidrantes. Las zanjas se repararan al final de cada dia
de trabajo. Se anticipan restricciones de estacionamiento en
las areas de trabajo de forma temporal.
Las zonas de construcci6n se estableceran con la
senalizaci6n apropiada y habra trabajadores con banderas
cuando sea previsible la obstrucci6n temporal de las vias.
Por favor presten atenci6n a la senalizaci6n de las calles y
tengan precauci6n mientras se encuentran en la zonas de
construcci6n.
Duracion
La duraci6n de proyecto sera de aproximadamente 2 meses.
El horario de trabajo es de 8 a.m. a 6 p.m., de lunes a
viernes. Por favor tenga en cuenta que esta prevision puede
cambiar debido a las inclemencias metereol6gicas o
condiciones imprevistas. La extension del horario esta sujeta
a la aprobaci6n por parte de la Ciudad y a la notificaci6n de
la asociaci6n de propietarios.
