SUBJECT: Evaluation Committee Relative to R uest for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2017-237-ND, for
Friction Testing Services for Specialty Surface Crosswalks
The purpose of this L TC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of Request for
Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2016-237-ND, which seeks to establish an agreement with a qualified firm(s) to
evaluate the friction resistance of patterned or stamped surfaces over asphalt crosswalks within the City
of Miami Beach.
The City will receive proposals pursuant to this RFQ on July 24, 2017. The responsive proposals will be
reviewed by the Evaluation Committee in accordance with the criteria established in the RFQ.
I am considering appointing the following individuals to serve on the Evaluation Committee:
• Sabrina Baglieri, Senior Capital Projects Coordinator, Office of Capital Improvement Projects,
City of Miami Beach
• Giancarlo Pena, Civil Engineer Ill, Public Works Engineering Department, City of Miami Beach
• Jose Rivas, Civil Engineer Ill, Public Works Engineering Department, City of Miami Beach
I am also considering the following individuals as alternates:
• Luis Soto, Assistant City Engineer, Public Works Engineering Department, City of Miami Beach
• Eric Arencibia, Capital Projects Coordinator, Office of Capital Improvement Projects, City of
Miami Beach
