Ordinance 571 ORDINANCE NO. 571
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 496 WHICH
DEFINES THE AUTOMOBILE RENTING BUSINESS
AND OTHERWISE REGULATES THE SAME, AND PRO-
VIDING HEREIN THAT NO LICENSE SHALL BE
GRANTED EXCEPT TO AN APPLICANT SHOWING
EVIDENCE OF OWNERSHIP OR LEASE OF ENCLOSED
BUILDING WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 496 be and the same
is hereby amended so that the said Section shall
contain a Subsection entitled "A" and which shall read as follows:
"No license shall be issued to any person, firm or
corporation to conduct or operate an automobile renting business ,
unless such person, firm, or corporation at the time of the applica-
tion for such license shall submit evidence to the City Clerk of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, showing that the said applicant is the
owner or lessee of an enclosed building which is to be used by said
applicant for the purpose of housing and storing the motor vehicles
kept by said applicant for the purpose of renting, leasing or hiring
the said motor vehicles, provided, however, that nothing herein con-
tained shall be construed as repealing any provision of Ordinance
Noe 2g9, being the Zoning Ordinance of said City, "
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 496 WHICH
DEFINES THE AUTO MOBI LE RENTING BUSINESS AND OTHERWISE RE-
GULATES THE SAME, AND PROVIDING HEREIN THAT NO LICENSE
SHALL BE GRANTED EXCEPT TO AN APPLICANT SHOWING EVIDENCE
OF OWNERSHIP OR LEASE OF ENCLOSED BUILDING WITHIN THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH" , having been passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been
posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami
Beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall in said
City on the 21st day of December, A. D. , 1939, and that said
ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty days
in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the
said City of Miami Beach.

hand and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, on this the 19th day of March, A. D. , 1940.
