Ordinance 583 ORDINANCE NO. 5$3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 297, GOVERNING AND REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ALTERATION AND RE., MOVAL OF AWNINGS, STATIONARY AWNINGS, ROLLER CURTAINS, CANOPIES AND ALL CANVAS OR OTHER CLOTH PROTECTION AGAINST SUN AND WEATHER ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND PRO. VIDING FOR A LICENSE, CERTAIN INSURANCE AND PERMITS TOGETHER WITH CERTAIN RULES AND RE. STRICTIONS GOVERNING THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS, THE COLLECTION OF FEES, AND THE CONSTRUCTION, AND ALSO PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE, PASSED AND ADOPTED OCTOBER 21ST, 1931, AND SINCE AMENDED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the title of Ordinance No. 297 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: °AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING AND REGULATING THE MANUFAC— TURE, CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ALTERA. TION AND REMOVAL OF AWNINGS, STATIONARY AWNINGS, TENTS, ROLLER CURTAINS, CANOPIES AND ALL CANVAS OR OTHER CLOTH, STEEL AND/OR WOOD PROTECTION AGAINST SUN, WEATHER AND VISION ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE, CERTAIN INSURANCE AND PERMITS, TOGETHER WITH CERTAIN RULES AND RESTRICTIONS GOVERNING THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS, THE COLLECTION OF FEES, AND THE CONSTRUCTION, AND ALSO PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE", SECTION 2: That Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 297 reading as follows: That no person, firm, partnership or corporation shall engage in the business of manufacturing, con » structing, installing, repairing, remodeling or taking down awnings, stationary awnings, tents, roller curtains or canopies within the City of Miami Beach, either as a contractor, sub—contractor or day laborer unless licensed as hereinafter provided. " be eliminated and the following substituted therefore: °That no person, firm, partnership or corporation shall engage in the business of manufacturing, con. structing, installing, repairing, altering or remov- ing awnings, stationary awnings, tents, roller curtains, canopies and all canvas or other cloth, steel and/or wood protection against sun, weather and vision on public or private property within the City of Miami Beach, either as a contractor, sub—contractor or day laborer unless licensed as hereinafter provided. " SECTION 3: That Section -1-, under the caption "Awning" now reading as follows: °Awning: An "Awning" is a temporary, movable, detach. D. , 1940, and that said ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
