AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 11 OF
ORDINANCE NO, 503 OF THE CITY Of MIAMI
BEACH, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ROOMING
HOUSE ORDINANCE, BY ADDING THERETO A
PROVISION FOR JAIL SENTENCE PENALTY IN
ADDITION TO THE FINE PENALTY AS PREVIOUSLY
PROVIDED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 11 of Ordinance No. 503, be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows :
"SECTION 11: Any landlord, proprietor, keeper,
manager, clerk, employee or other
person connected with any lodging house, rooming
house or hotel, violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine
not exceeding One Hundred Dollars 0100.00) , or
be imprisoned in the City Jail for a period not
exceeding sixty ( 60) days, or by both such fine
and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Court. "
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

KNOWN AS THE ROOMING HOUSE ORDINANCE, BY ADDING THERETO A
PROVISION FOR JAIL SENTENCE PENALTY IN ADDITION TO THE FINE
PENALTY AS PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED", having been passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
has been posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City
of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall
in said City on the 22nd day of :November, A. D. , 1940, and
that said ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
