ORDINANCE NO. 641
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMEND-
ING ORDINANCE NO. 289, BEING THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY, AS AMENDED BY
VARIOUS ORDINANCES TO DATE, INCLUDING
ORDINANCE NO. 586, AND PROVIDING IN
WHICH DISTRICTS OF SAID CITY AUCTION
SALES MAY BE PERMITTED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 289 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
being the Zoning Ordinance of said City as the same has been
amended by various ordinances to date, including Ordinance No. 586
dealing with auction sales, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following language:
"Auction sales shall be permitted, only upon approval and permit
of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, only in the following
business districts of the City of Miami Beach, as said business districts
are set forth and designated in Ordinance No. 289 of the City of Miami
Beach, as amended, to-wit:
The "BC" Business District; the "BD" Business
District; tie "BE" Business District; the "BF"
Business District; the "BG" Business District;
and any portion of the "BB" Business District
which lies south of the northerly line of Eighth
Street in said City of Miami Beach."
SECTION 2: That no auction sales shall be operated, conducted or per-
mitted in any portion of the City of Miami Beach except in
that territory specifically set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance is an emergency ordinance, that the
welfare of the City of Miami Beach, and the high class
business districts thereof, are in peril, that this ordinance is passed
for the protection of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach, that the
requirement that the three readings of an ordinance must be had in more
than one session is hereby dispensed with with reference to the passage
of this ordinance, and that three readings of this ordinance may be had
in one session.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall take effect immediately after
its passage and posting.

OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289,
BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY, AS AMENDED BY VARIOUS
ORDINANCES TO DATE, INCLUDING ORDINANCE NO. 586, AND PROVIDING
IN WHICH DISTRICTS OF SAID CITY AUCTION SALES MAY BE PERMITTED, "
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City, on the 18th day of February, A. D. ,
1942, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at
least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 31st day of March, A. D. , 1942.
