Resolution No. 8 amending a resolution adopted
November 19, 1919, authorizing $18,000. Improvement Bonds,
Series B.
the City of
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of/Miami Beach,
Florida, that Section 2 of a resolution adopted November
19, 1919, entitled "Resolution No . 7 authorizing Eighteen
Thousand Dollars ($18,000. ) Improvement Bonds, Series B,
dated December let, 1919, under Section 30 of the City
Charter of the City of Miami Beach, Florida", • be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor
and city Clerk, attested by the City Auditor and sealed with
the coreorate seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and
the coupons attached thereto shall be signed by the City
Clerk, whose signature upon such coupons may be in frac-simile
and the form of said bonds and coupons shall be substantially
as follows:

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That the City of Miami
Beach, in the County of Dade and State of Florida, is justly
indebted and for value received hereby promises to pay to the
bearer on the 1st day of December, 19 , the principal sum of
ON ; THOUSAND DOLLARS, with interest thereon at the rate of six
per cent (6%) per annum, payable semi-annually on the first
days of Deceber and June in each year, upon the presentation and
surrender of the annexed interest coupons as they severally
become due. Both principal and interest of this bond are
payable in gold coin of the United States c,_: she present standard
of weight and fineness at the United States Mortgage and Trust
Company, in the City of New York, and State of New York.
This bond is one of a series of Eighteen (18) bonds of
like date aggregating Eighteen Thousand ($18,000) Dollars and
is issued for the purpose of paying a portion of the cost of
the highway and sidewalk improvements referred to on the reverse
of this bond. This bond is issued under the authority and
within the limitations of and in full compliance with the char-
ter of the said city, and in particular Section 30 thereof, and
Resolution No. 7 duly adopted November 19th, 1919. The full
faith, credit and resources of said city of Miami Beach are ir-
revocably pledged to the prompt payment of the principal and
interest thereof as the same shall fall due, and to the appli-
cation to said payment of all assessments heretofore or hereafter
made upon property within said city for any part of the cost
of said improvements. It is hereby certified and recited that •
all acts, conditions and things reuired to exist or be done
precedent to and in the issuance of this bond by said charter
and the laws and constitution of said sate, have duly happened
and been performed; that provision has been made for the levy
and collection of a direct annual tax upon all taxable property
within said city sufficient to pay the interest and principal
of this bond as the same shall become due; and that the total
. indebtedness of the said city, including this bond, does not
exceed any constitutional or statutory limitation
IN WITNESS THEREOF, said city of Miami Beach has
caused this bond to be signed by its mayor and clerk, under its
coreorte seal, and attested by its auditor, and the interest
coupons hereto attached to be signed with the fac simile signature
of said clerk, all as of the 1st day of December, 1919.

The within bond is issued to pay a portbbn of the
cost of the improvement known as Highway Improvement No. 2,
consisting of the grading and paving of certain streets
within said city of iarri Beach as described in and authorized
by Resolution No. 1, Highway Improvement No. 2, adopted May
9, 1919, and confirmed by Resolution No. 3, Highway Improvement
No . 2 adopted Septeeber 3, 1919; and of aee improvement known
as Highway Improvement No . 3 consisting of the grading and
paving of certain streets within said City of Miami Beach
as described in and authorized by Resolution No. 1, Highway Improve
ment No. 3 adopted May 9, 1.919 and confirmed by Resolution No .
3 Highway Improvement No. 3 adopted September 3, 1919, and
of the improvement ,known as Sidewalk Improvement No. 2 consist-
ing of the construction of sidewalks on certain streets
within said Ci _y of Miami Beach as described in and authorized
by Resolution No. 1, Sidewalk Improvement No. 2 adopted May 9,
1919 and confirmed by Resolution No. 3, Sidewalk Improvement
No. 2 adopted September 3, 919; and for the improvement known as
Sidewalk Improvement No. 3 consisting of the construction of '
concrete sidewalks and curb on certain streets within said
City of Beach as described in and authorized by Resolu ion
No. 1, Sidewalk Improvement No. 3 adopted May 9, 1919, and
confirmed by Resolution No. 3, Sidewalk Improvement No. 3 adopted
September 3, 1919.
