Morales, City Manager DATE: July 28, 2017 SUBJECT: Status Update on Request fbr Proposals (RFP) No. 2016 -036 -KB Design/Build Services for Police Station Building Firing Range Ventilation System Replacement The purpose of this LTC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 2016 -036 -KB for design/build services to replace the ventilation system in the Police Department firing range. On January 13, 2016, the City Commission approved the issuance of Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 2016 -036 -KB Design/Build Services for Police Station Building Firing Range Ventilation System Replacement. The RFP called for a two (2) phase process. Phase I was to considerthe qualifications of the proposing teams. Phase II was to consider the technical proposals and costs received for the project. Phase I responses were due and received on March 3, 2016. In response to Phase I, the City received a sole proposal from the following firm FXP Corp. (FXP). However, on June 27, 2016, when Phase II proposals were due, FXP declined to submit a proposal for Phase II. Therefore, at this point there are no proposals that can be considered for this project. In order to terminate the cone of silence, the RFP has been withdrawn and cancelled. The Office of Capital Improvements Projects (CIP) is exploring the best method to implement this specialty Police Station Building Firing Range Modification and Ventilation System Replacement Project. Once a procurement method is determined for this specialty project, it will be presented to the City Commission for approval. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
