Ordinance 644 ORDINANCE NO. 644 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 1, OF ORDINANCE NO. 604 ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTAB- LISHING OFFICIAL PAY SCHEDULES FOR ALL CLASSI- FICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT; PROVIDING FOR ITS ADLINISTRATION AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. " BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That that portion of Section 1, of Ordinance No. 604, as amended, prescribing compensation scales for POLICE, FIRE FIGHTING AND PREVENTION AND LIFE GUARD lines of service, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "POLICE (Monthly Compensation) Year of Service Min. 2nd 3rd 4th Max. Increments of increase, at the rate of ten (10) dollars per month for those classifications based on a monthly scale and at the rate of two ( 2) dollars per week for those classifications based on a weekly scale, after each full year of service but not to exceed the prescribed maximums. " Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this Ordingnce shall become effective as of June 1, 19+1 for those employees in classifications affected hereby, who had attained regular status on or before September 1, 1941, who did not receive at least ten (10) per cent increase through the provisions of Ordinance No. 6014 and amendments thereto, and notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein or therein con- tained, each such employee shall have his salary adjusted as of June 1, 1941 so as to receive at least a ten (10) per cent. increase. For all other employees in classifications affected hereby, the provisions of this Ordinance shall become effective as of February 1, 1942. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of February, A.
