RESOLUTION No. 285
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS
TO THE CANVASS OF THE RETURNS OF A
SPECIAL ELECTION HELD JULY 25, 1922.
WHEREAS The City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
heretofore passed an ordinance authorizing the issuance of bonds
for said City in the sum of Seventy Thousand Dollars for the pur-
pose of constructing a building, the laying of drains and the
purchase of land, machinery and equipment , all for the operation
of a plant for neutralizing, destroying and disposing of sewerage
and Fifty-five Thousand Dollars for the construction of sanitary
sewers, and in saidordinance called a special. election to be held
in said City on July 25th, 1922, for the purpose of submitting
saidquestion to the qualified voters of said City,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That said City Council has this day publicly
canvassed the returns of the aforesaid election, which canvass
was made solely, exclusively and entirely from the returns of
certificates of the inspectors and clerk heretofore appointed
to hold and conduct said election and this City Council, acting
as a canvassing board, has found that upon the question : " Shall
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue bonds in the sum of
Seventy Thousand Dollars for the purpose of the construction of
a building, the laying of drains and the purchase of land, mach
inery and equipment, all for the operation of a plant for neu-
tralizing, destroying and disposing of sewerage ?", 3 '3 votes
were cast, of which 31 voters voted "Yes" and 1 voters
voted "No"; and that upon the question: "Shall the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, issue bonds in the sum of Fifty-five Thousand
Dollars for the p p ur c)se of constructing sanitary sewers ?", 33
votes were cast, of which 3 - voters voted "Yes" and

voters voted "No"; and that a majority of the votes cast upon
each of the aforesaid questions were for the issuance of said
bonds and said City Council does hereby declare the result of
said election upon each of said questions to be for the issuance
of bands in the aggregate sum of One Hundred Twenty-five Thou-
sand Dollars.

appears in their Minutes of said date.
